Le Mas de Mon Père La Part de l’Orage 2014 Languedoc-Roussillon, France
£19.80
Full of energy and generosity with deliciously fruity notes of blackberries and cherries intertwined with meaty and savoury notes. Juicy, long and fresh. A special wine made in particularly difficult conditions after Frederic lost most of his harvest, destroyed by a storm in July 2014. The grapes used to produce the wine were given to him in solidarity by his friends, winemakers like him.
About the winemaker
Le Mas de mon Père is located in the Malepère appellation – the appellation found at the most western point of the Languedoc region in France. Frédéric Palacios runs his five hectares of vines organically and grows eight different varieties on lime-clay soils: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carignan, Malbec, Cinsault, Grenache and Chasan. The local climate is a combination of maritime and Mediterranean climates. Frédéric, who is also a talented golf player, made his first vintage at Le Mas de mon Père in 2005. Just like him, his wines display energy and a heart-warming and complex personality.
