Guido Gualandi Gualanderesco 2011 Tuscany, Italy
£27.35
Gualanderesco is a profound and powerful blend of Sangiovese and Merlot with bold aromas of dark fruits and forest floor. Balanced and elegant this is a wine fit for meaty dishes shared in the company of close friends.
About the winemaker
The Gualandi domain of seven hectares (half of it covered with vines) is located in Montespertoli in the Tuscan province of Florence, Italy. For its energy needs the domain uses 90% renewable energy and is working to get closer to 100%. Electricity is generated from photovoltaic panels. Rain water is kept underground and used in the house and on the farm. Hot water is generated by solar panels and heating by the branches from the pruning of olive trees. The use of tractors is minimised and most tasks are done manually. Guido Gualandi started making wine in 2002 and the farm was certified organic in 2008.
