About the winemaker
Domaine du Joncier is located in the village of Tavel in southern Rhône, France. The domain was created in 1964 between the villages of Tavel and Lirac, by Pierre Roussel, who was an agronomist. His daughter, Marine Roussel, took over in 1989. The domain spreads over 32 hectares, of which 30 are planted with red varieties: 50% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 10% Cinsault and 10% Carignan. The remaining two hectares are planted with white varieties, namely Roussane, Marsanne and Bourboulenc. Marine works biodynamically, extracting very low yields from her vines to produce wines with beautiful freshness and elegance.
