Guido Gualandi Vin Santo del Chianti Colli Fiorentini DOC 2008 Tuscany, Italy
£36.85
A gorgeous sweet white wine from Tuscany with aromas and flavours of honey, hay, raisin, dry fruits. Versatile, you can pair it with foie gras, blue cheeses and desserts or drink it as a digestive – the way Tuscans like it.
About the winemaker
The Gualandi domain of seven hectares (half of it covered with vines) is located in Montespertoli in the Tuscan province of Florence, Italy. For its energy needs the domain uses 90% renewable energy and is working to get closer to 100%. Electricity is generated from photovoltaic panels. Rain water is kept underground and used in the house and on the farm. Hot water is generated by solar panels and heating by the branches from the pruning of olive trees. The use of tractors is minimised and most tasks are done manually. Guido Gualandi started making wine in 2002 and the farm was certified organic in 2008.
