From this month, our natural wines of the month not only take you to visit magnificent places between Italy and France but also make you jump in the future: from now on, our monthly appointment will present the wines you will find on offer in our e-commerce and social channels during the following month. We start today by presenting our August’s wines of the month, a selection of the best French natural wines with an Italian guest.

Domaine Mouthes Le Bihan La Pie Colette Rouge 2013 Aquitaine, France

” Summertime, and the livin’ is easy…”
That’s what a famous song says and in August that’s even truer. This is why this Le Pie Colette Rouge is the right natural wine to buy for your Summer relax moments: made with 85% Merlot and 15% Malbec grapes, this red wine is fruity and very easy to drink. Perfect to match with grilled meat for a relaxing barbecue, it comes from a biodynamic domain located in the stunning Aquitaine, France. Suitable for vegans, it is made through cold maceration and spontaneous fermentation, then aged for one year.

Domaine du Trapadis Côtes du Rhône Blanc 2013 Southern Rhône, France

Our second wine in offer during August is another stunning example of natural winemaking coming from France: Domaine du Trapadis Côtes du Rhône Blanc is a unique natural white wine, fresh and mineral, featuring floral and citrus notes. Made with 90% Grenache Blanc and 10% Clairette grapes, this wine comes from biodynamic farming held in Domaine du Trapadis, a farm located in the Southern Rhône region, France. The Trapadis farm comprises 35 hectares of vines and takes traditional winemaking seriously: this white wine comes from hand-harvested grapes, is aged for eight months in oak barrels and it is suitable for vegans.

Domaine des Mathouans AdrenAline 2013 Languedoc-Roussillon, France

Give a twist to your Summer with this special rosé wine: AdrenAline is a natural wine going with its name, fresh, energetic, with notes of wild strawberries, flowers and a juicy salinity. This medium bodied, dry wine comes from the Domaine des Mathouans farm in the famous Roussillon region in France, where the grapes are grown according to biodynamic farming and hand-harvested to create a perfect mix Carignan and Grenache Noir.

Marco De Bartoli Lucido 2013 Sicily, Italy

Our only Italian wine comes from Marco De Bartoli’s farm in sunny Sicily: Lucido is a white natural wine from organic farming that keeps all the taste of the soil and ambient where it is produced. Flavours of honey and peach, light with a slightly spicy finish: isn’t this how you imagine a sunny, beautiful day? Every bottle comes from Catarratto Lucido grapes rigorously selected and no synthetic chemicals nor industrial yeasts are used in the vineyards and at the winery.

Fabrice Gasnier Vieilles Vignes 2013 Loire, France

We end this Summer selection with a fresh red wine, perfect for red meat or cheese plates: this Fabrice Gasnier Vieilles Vignes is round and intense and features elegant aromas of berries; coming from biodynamic growth, it keeps all the unique taste of the stunning Loire, the French region where it is produced. Here, in the Domaine Fabrice Gasnier in the commune of Cravant-les-Coteaux, the Cabernet Franc grapes that make this 50 years old red wine are grown, respecting the nature, the environment, the tradition. This wine is suitable for vegans.
