CompareAbout the winemaker
La Raia is a winery located in Novi Ligure, in the Italian region of Piedmont, founded in 2003 by Giorgio Rossi Cairo and today managed together with the oenologist Piero Ballario. Dedicated since its origin to the production of the native vine of the area, the Cortese di Gavi, over time it has embraced the dictates of biodynamic agriculture under the Demeter name, to transfer to its grapes and wine all the organoleptic characteristics derived from the terroir.
Expanded with time, today La Raia boasts 180 hectares of land, in which, in addition to vineyards, there are woods, arable land and pastures, and a Steinerian kindergarten.
Furthermore, the cellar stands out for its modern machinery for the production of wine and the unforgettable large crystal wall, which makes it possible to observe the wine vessels and walls built with beaten earth. The Gavi wines by La Raia are whites rich in aromas and very long-lived, largely acclaimed by the public and critics.
