About the winemaker

L’Enclos des Braves is a domain of eight hectares located in Vertus, between L’isle-sur-Tarn and Rabastens, in the Gaillac appellation in South West France. Nicolas Lebrun spent ten years as a professional oenologist before he and his wife Chantal bought six hectares of vines and built a winery in 2005.  Located on slopes on the right bank of the river Tarn, the vineyards are grown on clay-lime soils and benefit from a southern exposure. Nicolas likes to work with old, traditional grape varieties that have fallen out of favour with the mass market: Prunelart, Braucol, Duras, Mauzac, Loin de l’oeil. L’Enclos des Braves is certified organic since 2008 and biodynamic since 2012.
