CompareAbout the winemaker
Château Lagarette is located in the village of Camblanes, in the Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, in the French region of Bordeaux. Olympe and Yvon Minvielle grow four hectares of vines, dating back from the Roman times and comprising Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. For many years the couple lived in Paris, where Olympe was producing films while Yvon was a professor of sociology at university. They acquired Château Lagarette, which was a former hunting lodge of the Duke of Epernon in the 15th century, in 1998 and have been making remarkable Bordeaux red wines ever since. Olympe, daughter of a local cooper, is in charge of the winemaking. The domain is run organically since 1998 and is certified biodynamic since 2003.
